Fag and Hag take on the big City!

Last Fall the Hag and I took a trip to the big city, New York city to be exact. It was a weekend full of adventures, photo shoots, Shopping and of course Starbucks. Instead of talking about the entire trip, as that would take days, I am going to tell you about our Social Night, as well as give you some tips and places to check out next time you are in New York City.

It was a night to remember that is for sure! We started the Evening with shopping at a little hole in the wall place I like to call Tiffany's!  If you are ever on Fifth Ave. You need to check this place out, it was breathe taking, multiple floors of sparkly things, jewelry and dishes. It was so bright, it was like heaven. And even better there is a Chanel Boutique across the street.

After a little shopping we hit up our first Gay Bar. Therapy. Therapy is located between 8th and 9th ave. on 52nd st. This is a must go bar. It was one of the most beautiful bars I have ever seen in my life, and I have been to a lot! It was dimly lit, with faux gas lanterns, and the bar was a huge slab of Burl wood. The drinks are worth every penny, and trust me they are a bit pricey. I had a Bi-Polar(I love the names) and Becca had a Size Queen. If you go durring happy hour the drinks are half off too! The link is below.

Next stop was the Gym. Becca was truly sketched out by this bar. I thought it had some charm. The Gym is New York City's Gay Sports bar. Do not expect much from this bar, it was dark and crowded, and looked just like your run of the mill sports bar, just filled with gays. What made this place interesting to me is the dance club underneath, called the Locker Room. It was unfortunately closed when we stopped by, as it was still early. From what I was it was a nice large space and from the crowd, I would expect it would be a great night!

After a brief stop to change at the apartment we staying at (NYU right next to Parsons) We were off for the last leg of the journey.  We went to this super classy little French coffee shop down the street, and I can not for the life of me remember what the name of it was. I think it was called French Press, or something like that. The decor was old world inspired, all dark woods, and vintage cafe tables. We had some coffee and shared a cheese cake. Oh and that cheese cake was sinful, it was too good not to be. If you can find this place you have to order the cheese cake! It's Fab!

And what type of gay would I be if we did not end the night at the historic Stonewall Inn. Everytime I go to Stonewall I hope they have done a little more to make it a bit more lively, and I am always disappointed. It's dark and kind of gloomy, Becca said it was cozy. The drinks are REALLY expensive, and not very good. But you don't come to Stonewall for the drinks or the atmosphere, you come here to see it. It's like seeing any other historic site, you don't  go to Alcatraz for the room service either.  Most of the people at the bar are pretty friendly, I had a conversation with a nice gay couple from France, who came to NYC just to see Stonewall! Be forewarned this is def. an older crowd bar, many of the queens and hags I saw there I bet were there during the Stone wall riots, and just haven't left!

All in all it was an amazing trip, and I hope you decide to take your gay one day!
